Our mission is to provide vital information to seniors, their families and caregivers that will help resolve their health, lifestyle and safety needs.
We do this by publishing the Senior Guidance Directory & Caregiving Handbook, a comprehensive listing of resources and services available to support the needs of older adults. The directory — considered the “bible” of the eldercare industry — is distributed FREE to individuals throughout the community.

About Us
- Senior Guidance Directory, Inc. is a §501(c) (3) charitable organization based in Houston, Texas. The Senior Guidance Directory & Caregiving Handbook has been published for the last 13 years.
- More than 100,000 copies are published each year.
- Thanks to our long-standing collaboration with the regional network of more than 200 Houston-area Walgreens pharmacies, the directories are provided FREE to all individuals at their pharmacy counters.
- Approximately 70,000 are distributed by dedicated people from the public and private sectors who specialize or support eldercare services such as hospital discharge planners, case managers, social workers, home health care assistants, attorneys, insurance agents, and others.
- Because it is so widely distributed throughout the community, we estimate that the directory impacts at least 650,000 lives each year.
- Typical users reside and work within the 75 mile radius of the greater Houston metropolitan area. However, recent requests for hundreds of copies have come from agencies such as Adult Protective Services over 250 miles away.
- Adult children living throughout the United States use our directory to help their parents living in the Houston area.
The information and resources contained in the 2008-2009 edition are up-to-date as of June 2008. Please note that resources and services may change as the year progresses. Such changes may not be reflected in this year’s online edition.
