2006-2007
The
2006-2007 edition of the Senior Guidance Directory
(SGD) was recently launched at the Elder Service
Providers' Network meeting on May 23, 2006,
held at the United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast. Cameo
Caregivers, which provides a variety of
services to those who are frail, elderly or
convalescing, were the generous underwriters
of the event. Mayor Bill White designated
that day to be "Senior Guidance Directory
Day" in the city of Houston. Pam Cooney, executive
director of Senior Guidance Directory, Inc.,
presented awards to the Directory's community
sponsors pictured below:

On behalf of Walgreens, Stuart Hendryx, manager of the Montrose Walgreens store, accepts the Outstanding Corporate Citizen - Improving Seniors' Lives Award. More than 130,000 copies of the Directory are published annually and distributed free throughout the community via the regional network of 175-plus Walgreens pharmacies in the Greater Houston area.
On behalf of Care for Elders, Esther Steinberg, project coordinator, accepts the Gold Sponsor Community Partner Award. The 2-1-1 Care for Elders Access Network is highlighted on this year's Directory cover as the first number to call when you need assistance.
On behalf of the Isla Carroll Turner Friendship Trust, Michelle Sorenson, SGD board member, accepts the Senior Dedication Award. This trust has generously and continually supported the Senior Guidance Directory since its inception in 1996.
Carla Vigilante, Community Relations Liaison for Elder Services Providers' Network, reads a proclamation from Mayor Bill White.
